This is a dump of my root & usr & var filesystems.
Filesystem layout follows the Linux filesytem standard 1.2.
Space consumption:
root filesystem: ~ 5 MB
usr filesystem: ~ 51 MB
Files of this distribution:
watchtower-2.README
watchtower-2.INSTALL
watchtower-2.PACKAGES
watchtower-2-root.CONTENTS.gz
watchtower-2-root.tar.gz
watchtower-2-usr.CONTENTS.gz
watchtower-2-usr.tar.gz
watchtower-2-usrdoc.CONTENTS.gz
watchtower-2-usrdoc.tar
watchtower-2-var.CONTENTS.gz
watchtower-2-var.tar.gz
There is no source tree for this distribution. Sources were taken from
Slackware, GNU, Sunsite and Debian mirror sites. Binaries (gcc, binutils,
libc, gdb and few other things) were taken from ftp.phil.uni-sb.de and
ftp.uni-erlangen.de.
Consider these filesystems as an intermediate solution, until a port of one
of the big source trees is available for Linux/68k.
Use these filesystems on your own risk!
All binaries are in ELF format.
To make this distribution compact, I removed all a.out compiler stuff and
a.out static libs. You can't build a.out binaries with these filesystems.
You will be able to run a.out binaries; I kept the a.out shared libs
libc.so.4.6.7, libm.so.4.6.27 and libcurses.so.1.0.0
The filesystems are prepared for the forthcoming 2.x.x kernels but
also work fine with 1.2.13pl10. They contain everything you need to run a
Linux system in a network. However, the emphasis is on networking.
For some areas, like editing, reading mail or news, there are a lot of
packages around and everyone prefers another. So I decided to install
some widely used packages.
watchtower-2-usrdoc.tar contains the man, info, doc and install trees. The
doc tree contains documentation from the source distributions. The install
tree contains Makefiles, etc.
watchtower-2.PACKAGES contains a list of the packages provided.
watchtower-2.INSTALL contains installation instruction for people familiar
with Linux.
Have fun!
